# Calculate day of the week

## Calculate day of the week in Excel

With Excel you can also calculate what day of the week was a date or calculate the day of the week I was born.

To find out on which day a date fell with ExcelIn a spreadsheet, open a spreadsheet and type in an empty cell the following function:

=TEXTO("6/6/2017";"dddd")

That will return that June 6, 2017 fell on a Tuesday. You simply have to modify the date and put in the one you want so that Excel will return the day of the week corresponding to that day.
